Thoughts of Ulises: 1

There are many things in many rooms, but a few things catch my eye (others drop it). It's not the animated, two-legged creatures - ranging from short to tall, wearing attractive to not-so attractive clothes- hanging around me, conversating and mingling...possibly yelling. Or the groups of two-leggers that band together; accepting the alike and casting away the different. Nah, it's the objects around them.

It feels like walking into a candy store named "Pick Yer Poison!", with a limited selection of goodies: the F.U.N.4.U - the 6-toothed gummy serpent ; flavor straws - a cough with each draw; tangy luv spray - a sweet and sour blend; candy corn shells - the not-so-sweet messengers; pills - no special description, just pills; and the "SIP ME" sodas - a sip won't hurt.

Treats like these have acquired tastes; some find them delightful, others find them repulsive(scary, even). But what is there to worry? It is JUST candy. It sits on the shelves - all pretty and appealing ; lifeless - with cool, fun packaging labels, sweet aromas lingering from it, covered in a glistening wrapper to REALLY catch someone's attention.

Over time - from walking by the corner store daily to visiting for the first time, there was something new that managed not to drop my eye. It was no longer the candy itself, the smells lingering from them, the shiny wrappers, or the goofy names that stuck out to me - but the candy eaters; the two-legged, animated beings that consumed the treats. They glare at the candy through the windows, sneak some into their pockets, share with their friends.

Is the candy a problem? I understand having a sweet tooth (I've always had one), but would my sweet tooth "increase"? Would the flavor straws "not do it" for me at some point? Maybe the sugared luv spray will give me that flavor boost I'm looking for.

I don't know. But, what I do know - and just remembered -  is I came into this room to find my pens and pencils, so I can draw. I've got a bad habit of losing objects quickly, mainly my pencil (sometimes, all the time, my wallet). If it's not in my pencil pouch(where it should be), on my desk, or laying on the floor somewhere, it's probably in my jacket. As I dumped out the pockets, my things fell onto the floor: my pens and pencils, my flavor straws, my sugared luv spray, and some candy corn shells - gummy serpents love some candy corn shells...
